The vision behind EnCiv is that member organizations will contribute to a functioning online platform that is more than the sum of its parts.

Even before that vision has become a reality, however, members have found ways to work together in other ways.  The Chicago municipal discussion project is the most significant so far.  In that project, EnCiv’s two founding members, Interactivity Foundation (IF) and Ballotpedia, worked together to improve electoral coverage.  Here’s another description of the project, this one from IF’s January newsletter, which also features an engaging infographic capturing the project’s highlights created by IF Fellow and project lead editor Shannon Wheatley Hartman.
